Description

Trafalgar Corex Riser Shaft Systems provide a fire-rated solution for vertical service risers in multi-level buildings, ensuring safe and compliant service distribution between floors.

Fire-rated riser shafts are essential for maintaining fire compartmentation, allowing services to pass vertically through a building without compromising the Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of each floor.

Why Use Fire-Rated Riser Shafts?

Riser shafts are commonly used to:

  • Run services vertically between levels
  • Reduce the need for repeated floor-to-floor fire stopping
  • Maintain continuous fire-rated separation between compartments

Constructing shafts externally (from outside the shaft) also improves installation efficiency and accessibility.

Corex Riser Shaft Solution

Trafalgar Corex fire-rated board is designed to form durable, space-efficient riser shaft enclosures.

Key benefits include:

  • Fire-tested shaft system for vertical applications
  • Suitable for external shaft construction
  • Supports integrated service penetrations
  • Lightweight and easy to install

Corex provides a practical and efficient alternative to traditional shaft construction methods.

Compliance and Fire Testing

Trafalgar Corex riser shaft systems are tested and approved to:

  • AS1530.4 – 2014 (Fire resistance testing)
  • AS4072.1 (Service penetration systems)
  • AS1530.1 (Non-combustibility)

Systems are approved for:

  • Fire-rated shafts up to 4 metres high
  • Use with Trafalgar Fyre Stopping penetration systems

This ensures a fully compliant passive fire protection system for vertical service shafts.
