Supporting Youth Off The Streets
Wed, 14th Aug 2019
Every night there are 43,555 young people sleeping rough in Australia. Trafalgar is proud to have supported Youth Off The Streets, an organisation that provides invaluable support and services for these vulnerable youths at their time of need.
Trafalgar's owner, John Rakic, has been involved with Youth Off The Street's Sydney to Surfers charity ride for the last 7 years and recently attended a charity auction, donating $16,000 to the cause on behalf of Trafalgar.
Anita Heathcote, John Martin and Jared Wilson from Youth Off The Streets joined the Trafalgar team at the South Granville factory to accept the cheque and talk more about the great work that is being done through the organisation.
With the majority of homeless youths having experienced domestic violence, and many suffering from mental health issues, the assistance that they need to transform their futures is multifaceted, and unique to each individual. Youth Of The Streets offers education, safe accommodation, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, counselling and other support services aimed at breaking the cycle of disadvantage, abuse and neglect.
The Trafalgar team is proud to have been involved in raising awareness and funds for such a worthy cause, and look forward to continuing to support the initiatives and programs that are making a difference to thousands of lives each year.
