Trafalgar have begun testing a range of 1 and 2-hour fire-rated plasterboard ceilings with various penetrations, with the aim of bringing some RISF (Resistance to the Incipient Spread of Fire) AS1530.4-2014 compliant Trafalgar penetration systems to the market.
The first test was in a -/60/60 rated ceiling with 60 minutes RISF rating that included small residential-style penetrations – a small bundle of cables, and a PVC Conduit. The services were sealed with FyreBOARD Maxilite, FyreFLEX sealant and a FyreCHOKE Conduit Micro Fire Collar and initial results confirm 1-hour integrity rating on both penetrations, with thermal results pending.
We hope to continue to bring you updates as the test program continues and test results are confirmed!
